Mumbai: Ghazal king Jagjit Singh, who was operated upon at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Friday after suffering a brain haemorrhage, is still in the Intensive Care Unit, doctors said today. The 70-year-old legend was admitted to the hospital in suburban Bandra on Friday morning.[caption id=“attachment_91995” align=“alignleft” width=“380” caption=“Ghazal singer Jagjit Singh. Since the patient is in ICU, it means he is under observation… He is on life support system and ventilator. He seems to be stable,” Sudhir Dagaonkar of the hospital said. Brain hemorrhage is a known complication of uncontrolled hypertension or high blood pressure. In January 1998, Singh had suffered a heart attack, which led him to quit smoking. In October 2007, he was hospitalised following blood circulation problems. PTI
