Itanagar: AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi today advocated that every single person of the country must be involved in governance so that the country moves ahead. “If we don’t involve people of all walks of life, especially the backward class in the governance, our nation will not move ahead,” Gandhi said while addressing a massive gathering on the penultimate day of the five-day Tawang Festival at Tawang. He informed the people about the national flagship programmes like MGNREGA ans Sarva Shikshya Abhiyan (SSA) which offer enough opportunities to everyone in the country better employment and livelihood.

He expressed optimism that with implementation of the PM’s package Arunachal will see a new light of development with proper air, railway and road connectivity. Marvelling at the dance performances by various tribes and sub-tribes of the state, the Gandhi scion commented that “we are different flowers of the same bouquet – different in culture yet same in spirit.” Recalling the Nehru-Gandhi contributions in shaping the destiny of Arunachal, Chief Minister Nabam Tuki informed him that the Central government’s developmental package are being properly implemented in construction of a four-lane road to connect the state capital, the Trans-Arunachal Highway, the railway line to Itanagar and greenfield airport.
