[/caption] Maharajganj: The 500-km-long Indo-Nepal border along eight districts of Uttar Pradesh will be sealed two days before polling to prevent ‘movement of anti-social elements’ during the Assembly elections. Security along the borders has been stepped up in the wake of reports that anti-social elements could infiltrate into the state and disrupt polling, a senior official said. The districts along the Indo-Nepal border in the state are Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Sidharth Nagar, Maharajganj and Kushinagar. “We have stepped vigil along the border, patrolling has been intensified and a close watch is being kept on movement of people and vehicles in the area to foil infiltration of anti-social elements,” Maharajganj District Magistrate Pranjal Yadav said. The Indo- Nepal border will be sealed completely two days before polling and movement of people would also be banned, he said, adding that computerised cameras would be installed at trade and transit points along India’s border with Nepal. Yadav also said two such cameras have already been set up at Sonauli on India-Nepal border.
