The Pawan Hans helicopter had crashed on Harsil helipad on 28 June and was under-slung and airlifted to Dehradun in delicately handled operation by a Mi-17 V5 helicopter,” an IAF statement said in New Delhi. The helicopter had crash-landed at Harsil and was damaged in the process soon after the death of 20 personnel in a mishap involving a Mi-17 V5. But all onboard were safe. On 21 June, a private helicopter that was being used for rescue operations had also crashed. The pilot, though, was rescued. PTI
