I do not plan to retire: Tarun Gogoi

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today rubbished recent reports in a section of the media that he was planning to retire soon and his place would be taken by young ministers in his cabinet. “As long as my health is good I plan to continue,” Gogoi told reporters on the completion of the first year of his third consecutive term in office here. Flanked by two young ministers Himanta Biswa Sarma and Pradyut Bordoloi, who were tipped by the media as possible successors to Gogoi, the chief minister said “Why I should think of tomorrow or the day after? I think for today only and as I have faith in God I do not think there should be any problem”. Both Bordoloi and Sarma have said there was no such move as Gogoi is the undisputed leader of Congress in the state. PTI
