Huawei targets $200 mn revenue in India this year

Infotech communications technology solutions provider Huawei today said it plans to clock $200 million revenue from its enterprise business in the country this calendar year, by garnering around 200 clients.

Mumbai: Infotech communications technology solutions provider Huawei today said it plans to clock $200 million revenue from its enterprise business in the country this calendar year, by garnering around 200 clients.

“We plan to target around 200 customers this calendar year, including public sector units. After we began operations in India in September 2011, we have done business worth $14 million. We intend to focus on verticals like garments, BFSI, power, oil and gas, as well as internet service providers,” Huawei Telecommunications India President (Enterprise Business) Eric Yu told reporters.

The company already has a customer base of around 50 companies, which are enterprise customers. This customer base is expected to increase by another 100 companies, he said.

“For this calendar year, our company has orders worth $150 million, which should bring us revenue worth $100 million,” he said.

Besides its already existing research and development centre in Bangalore, which employs 2700 people, the company plans to set up another research centre which will employ 4000 people in the same city, Yu said.

“The software for our IP routers and land switches is developed out of our research and development centre in Bangalore,” he said.

The company has also kicked off its ‘Huawei Enterprise Roadshow 2012’ to showcase its infotech communications technology products and solutions inside a demo truck which will travel to New Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore.

The company also unveiled its ’next generation’ enterprise telepresence solutions leveraging high definition technologies, with enriched functionalities.

“We provide conclusive unified communications comprising IP telephony, multimedia conference, collaboration software, IP call centre solutions and telepresence solutions. The roadshow is our effort to put these products and solutions in front of our customers and help them understand the next generation technologies in a better way,” Huawei Enterprise’s Vice President Daniel Jiangqingsong said.
