**Panaji:**The Goa bench of Bombay High Courttoday issued a contempt notice to Sesa Goa Ltd for allegedlyviolating its order on the transport of iron ore.
Environmentalist Ramesh Gauns had moved the high court inthis regard.Justice FM Reis issued notices to Sesa Goa, its managingdirector PK Mukherjee and Chief Operating Officer Pramod Unde.
The contempt petition was filed after Gauns handed overtwo lists of violations of the high court’s order, compiled bythe director of transport in south and north Goa.

Accordingly, a large number of trucks carrying ore fromSesa’s mines were found to be violating high court’sguidelines on how the ore should be transported on publicroads, to minimise the dust pollution and accidents.
The petition also encloses several letters written bysenior police officers to the higher-ups and to the collectorsnaming the trucks of Sesa Goa for persistent violation of thedirections given by the high court.
The petition states that as Sesa Goa is the largestexporter of ore from the state, its conduct is setting a badexample.The court has given the respondents two weeks to filereply.
