Gujarat to become largest solar power producer: Modi

Vadodara: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today said that inauguration of Asia’s first solar park at Charanka village in Patan district will take place on 19 April. “The total solar power generation in the entire country is only 120 MW, while Gujarat will be generating 600 MW solar power,” he said, speaking after inaugurating Jubiliant Life Science Ltd’s special economic zone in Vilayat industrial estate at Vagra, 110 km from here. Jubilant Life Sciences, an integrated pharmaceuticals and life sciences company, has invested Rs 500 crore in the SEZ. The plants of vitamin B3 and 3-Cyanopyridine at the SEZ make Jubilant the largest producer of Vitamin B3 in India and second largest producer globally, the company said. The company is also setting up a manufacturing plant for Symtet. PTI
