Germany signals no future Afghan role without US

Germany is signaling that its offer to keep hundreds of trainers in Afghanistan after US and other foreign combat forces leave the country next year is contingent on American and other soldiers being part of the training mission too. On Tuesday, White House press secretary Jay Carney said no decision had been made on how many U.S. troops will stay in Afghanistan and left open the possibility that no American soldiers will remain after 2014.
