Forest guards kill two poachers in Kaziranga

Kaziranga, Assam: Two poachers were killed today in an encounter with forest protection force personnel in world famed Kaziranga National Park.

Patrolling security personnel spotted a group of five poachers moving under suspicious circumstances near Malani camp under Bagori range, park officials said.

A fierce encounter followed between security forces and the poachers in which two poachers were killed on the spot while three others managed to escape.

The security personnel recovered a .303 rifle, live cartridges, several other ammunition, clothes and two mobile sets.

Massive combing operations were on to nab the other three poachers, who managed to escape, sources added.
