Five killed in Pune house collapse

Pune: At least five people were killed when a four-storied building collapsed here Monday, police said. Sixteen people remained trapped under the debris.

The tragedy occurred around 2 p.m. when the Somnath building in the Dhankavli area of the city came crashing down, a police official said.

Police and fire brigade teams rushed to the site and managed to pull out at least 10 injured people from the debris.

All the injured were rushed to hospitals and efforts were underway to rescue those still trapped under the rubble.
