Kolkata: A film journalists body in West Bengal today paid tributes to Dadasaheb Phalke awardee Pran, who passed away last week.

Tollywood superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee, thespian Soumitra Chatterjee, director Sandip Ray and some other members of Bengal film fraternity attended the function here organised by the newly-launched West Bengal Film Journalists Association (WBFJA).

Prosenjit recalled how at the outset of his career he was floored by the Bollywood legend’s affable nature while shooting for ‘Ajana Path’.

“I was quite young then. I had asked Pranji how he kept himself so remarkably fit and on getting tips from him I copied his lunch time fruit diet for several years,” he said.

Journalist and film critic Nirmal Dhar is the secretary of WBFJA which also aims at providing platform to all film journalists for actively discussing, promoting, analysing the different genres of cinema and the emerging trends.

The film personalities also unveiled the logo of the association.
