New Delhi: Around 10 crore documents, including gazette notifications, manuscripts, photographs, maps and other official records, of Delhi government would be stored in the digital format. Reuters”]  [/caption] The Delhi government today inked an agreement with Hyderabad-based National Institute for Smart Government which will carry out the project. The records will be kept in digital format on micro film for long term preservation. NISG is a non profit company promoted Centre, Andhra Pradesh government and NASSCOM. Officials said after implementation of the project, any record of Delhi government would be accessible by the citizens through an online platform. “To achieve the dual objective of improving access to archives and to improve preservation, it is imperative that all documents and other materials are digitised and maintained using a document management database system. So we have decided to launch the project,” said an official. PTI
