Congress lacks issues: Sushma Swaraj

Lucknow: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj today alleged that Congress lacks issues for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election and was indulging in dramatics to garner votes. “Congress has launched the most extensive campaign and the entire family is in electioneering, but the party lacks issues and is, therefore, indulging in dramatics,” Swaraj told reporters here. The BJP leader said that there were a number of important questions on which people need reply from the Congress leadership, but the party was keeping mum. “The country wants reply on cancellation of 122 telecom licences, zero loss theory of ministers, black money. It should have been better if they would have replied, instead they want to garner votes by dramatics,” she alleged. Referring to Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid episode, Swaraj said that it was a desperation to get Muslim votes. “Salman said all these things till the election of his wife after which he apologised…now Beni Prasad Verma is saying similar thing…if Prime Minister would have taken resignation from Salman and taken stern action against him then no minister would have dared to say such things,” she said. She said that mere apology by Salman Khurshid was not sufficient. The BJP leader said that there was a strong undercurrent in favour of the party which was heading towards forming a government on its own. PTI
