New Delhi: Amid escalating war of words between the party’s state unit and Mamata Banerjee’s TMC, Congress today expressed confidence that differences if any with the ally will be sorted out. “It will not be appropriate for us to comment on a political party, which is our ally. Even if there are problems, we will sort them out. In an alliance with different parties, differences are bound to occur but they are ultimately reconciled,” party spokesperson Rashid Alvi told reporters in New Delhi.[caption id=“attachment_178196” align=“alignleft” width=“380” caption=“Congress ready to mend ties with TMC. Banerjee’s party earlier dared the Congress to walk out of the alliance. The latest trouble between the two allies in West Bengal erupted over the state government’s bid to change the name of a government bunglow named after late prime minister Indira Gandhi. As the controversy peaked, both Congress and Banerjee’s party accused each other of working in tandem with CPM and the alliance appeared to be on the rocks. The Congress spokesperson, however, felt that differences will be resolved ultimately. PTI
