CoBRA commandos kill two NDFB militants in Assam

Bongaigaon, Assam: Two suspected NDFB(S) terrorists were killed in an encounter with CRPF’s CoBRA commandos in Chirang district today. According to CRPF officials, the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) wing of the force killed two unidentified hardcore NDFB(S) cadres at Khagrabari near Aie river under Dhaligaon police station in the wee hours.[caption id=“attachment_1081529” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Tough time for Assam. PTI[/caption] “A group of 4-5 militants had a plan to abduct an engineer from Roumari-Chapaguri area in the district. Getting this tip off, CoBRA laid an ambush at Khagrabari since last midnight,” an official said. While two terrorists were killed, the rest of the group escaped unhurt. “One pistol and a grenade were recovered from the slain militants. Bodies of the militants have been brought to the police station for identification,” the CRPF official said. Earlier, the CoBRA personnel reached Chirang district five days ago and it was their first encounter with suspected NDFB militants. PTI
