State-run Power Grid Corporation of India today said it would invest Rs 1,327.74 crore for strengthening two transmission systems in the Northern region.

Power Grid to invest Rs 1,327 cr in two projects

State-run Power Grid Corporation of India today said it would invest Rs 1,327.74 crore for strengthening two transmission systems in the Northern region.

These investment proposals were approved by the company’s board of directors during their meeting on September 26, Power Grid said in a regulatory filing. As part of ‘Northern Region System Strengthening Scheme-XXVI’, the company would be spending Rs 803.34 crore.

The commissioning schedule of the project would be 30 months from the date of investment approval. Further, Power Grid would invest Rs 524.40 crore for ‘Northern Region System Strengthening Scheme -XXVIII’ and the project would be completed within 32 months from the investment approval date, the company said.

Power Grid operates more than 95,000 circuit km of transmission lines. One circuit km refers to one kilometre of electrical transmission line.

Shares of the company closed flat at Rs 116.75 apiece on

the BSE.
