Mah Satyam to invest Rs 800 cr on raising campus capacity

IT services firm Mahindra Satyam today said it has earmarked Rs 800 crore for creating additional capacity of 15,000 seats at its campuses over the next two years.

The company is also setting up a 1,000-seat IT Development Centre as part of the plan, with an initial investment of around Rs 80 crore in MIHAN SEZ, Nagpur. “With a view to meeting the business growth, Mahindra Satyam is creating additional Development Centres in Hyderabad, Chennai, Visakhapatnam and Bangalore.

“An investment of Rs 800 crore is earmarked for creating additional capacity of 15,000 spaces in the existing campuses in next two years,” the company said in a press release. The Phase-I of the MIHAN Campus would be operational within 15-18 months and as per the Master Plan for expanding operations in Nagpur in a phased manner.

Mahindra Satyam also announced its expansion at Bhubaneswar (Odisha) to expand the existing Campus, the

release said. Shivanand Raja, Senior Vice President, Commercial and Corporate Services, MSat said expansion into tier-II cities is the logical expansion of Global Delivery model that will augur well for the company’s quest towards Mission 2015.

“I am confident that apart from creating employment opportunities in these cities, we will be able to foster innovation as a significant part of our growth agenda,” Raja said in the statement.

MIHAN - Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur is spread over 4,354 hectares and is an ideal business hub, easily accessible to all the metro cities of India, the release added.
