India’s largest airline by market share Jet Airways today said it has signed a direct flight agreement with Vietnam Airlines.

Mumbai: India’s largest airline by market share Jet Airways today said it has signed a direct flight agreement with Vietnam Airlines.

The partnership, that covers commercial, services, technical and training aspects, shall contribute to thedevelopment of tourism besides boosting the investment and trade relations between the two countries, the private airline said in a statement here.

“This agreement is an integral part of our strategy for increased international growth and providing seamless service for travellers between the two nations,” Jet Airways Chairman Naresh Goyal said.

The deal was signed in the presence of the visiting Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang.

“The agreement with Jet is a step towards realising strategic partnership between the two countries. We believe that direct flights between the two countries shall bring benefits to our customers,” Vietnam Airlines President and CEO Pham Ngoc Minh said.
