“Our new plant is helping us to save the cost of generating 19 MW of power - enough power for almost 10,000 homes - which at today’s electricity prices provides extensive savings. This allow us to help addressing the national power deficit by not drawing this power from the grid or using scarce natural resources,” Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Essar Steel India, Dilip Oommen said.

Essar Group has already commissioned a similar facility at its Canadian operations at Essar Steel Algoma Inc. Essar Steel produces a 14 million tonne per annum of steel globally with presence in Canada, USA, India and Indonesia.
