BSE appoints Ashishkumar Chauhan as interim CEO

**New Delhi:**Country’s premier stock exchangeBSE Ltd today said its deputy CEO Ashishkumar Chauhan would bethe interim CEO.

Chauhan, currently the bourse’s deputy CEO, would replaceMadhu Kannan who is moving to Tata Group as head of businessdevelopment.

“The Board of Directors of BSE Ltd decided to appointAshishkumar Chauhan as interim CEO of the exchange with effectfrom 11 May 2012 after expiry of term of current MD and CEO,Madhu Kannan on May 10, 2012,” BSE said in a statement.

On 3 April, BSE Ltd had said Kannan has expressed hisintention not to seek a new term at the expiry of his currentterm. He would work with the BSE board to ensure that there isa seamless succession process, the bourse had noted.

The same day, Tata Sons had announced the appointment ofKannan as head of Tata Group’s business development.Kannan joined the BSE from Bank of America - Merrill Lynchwhere he was a Managing Director in the Corporate StrategyGroup.
