Bomb blast in south Pakistan kills 2

A senior police official says a bomb has killed at least two people in a village in an area of southern Pakistan frequently hit by violence. [caption id=“attachment_909703” align=“alignright” width=“380”]  Representational image: AFP[/caption] Fayyaz Sunmbol, the deputy inspector general of police in Quetta, says the blast Thursday morning in the village of Kuchlak also wounded five people. The village is about 22 kilometers (13 miles) from Quetta, which is the capital of Baluchistan province. Sunmbol says authorities are investigating whether it was a roadside bomb or a suicide bomber. Baluchistan has been beset by violence from multiple groups. Baluch separatists often attack Pakistani military and government targets while Sunni Muslim extremist groups have repeatedly killed Shiite Muslims living in the region. Many members of the Afghan Taliban also make their base in the province. Associated Press
