Baby Afreen case: Omar ashamed to share name with accused

Srinagar: Expressing his outrage over the death of baby Afreen, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said he felt ashamed to share his name with that of her father. Her (Afreen) father’s name and my first “n (and) middle name are the same,” Omar wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter. Three-month-old Afreen, allegedly battered and abused by her father Umar Farooq for being born a girl, died at a hospital in Bangalore yesterday after suffering a cardiac arrest. PTI
