Baba Ramdev's aide Balkrishna to appear before CBI today

Dehra Dun: Baba Ramdev’s close aide Balkrishna appeared before CBI today for questioning. Balakrishna had allegedly used fake educational degrees for procuring a passport. Balakrishna’s personal secretary said that in compliance with the Uttarakhand High Court order, Balkrishna reported to the CBI office in Dehra Dun. PIB”]  [/caption] While staying the arrest of Balkrishna, the state high court had asked Balkrishna to cooperate with the CBI investigations and appear before it today for interrogation. Balkrishna, who was summoned to appear before CBI on 28 July, sent  a fax to the sleuths seeking 20-days’ time to appear stating that his passport is with the British High Commission. However, the agency turned down his plea and asked him to appear without the passport on the same date. Balkrishna again requested the CBI for 10 days. The petition for stay on Balkrishna’s arrest was placed before Justice PC Pant on 28 July. However, he excused himself and referred it to Chief Justice  of the state high court Barin Ghosh. The next date of hearing is on 29 August. Balkrishna had gone “missing” from his Divya Yoga Mandir Trust residence in Haridwar on 25 July,  a day after CBI registered a case against him for cheating and criminal conspiracy for procuring a fake degree and violation of section 12 of the Indian Passport Act for furnishing fake documents to obtain a passport.
