Nalbari, Assam: Acute financial crisis was no barrier for Assam’s martial art player Dharmeswar Haloi to win two gold medals at the World Budokai Martial Art Championship held in Bulgaria.[caption id=“attachment_335728” align=“alignleft” width=“380” caption=“Swing of the body. He had earlier lifted the gold medal in the World Martial Art Championship held in Kuwait last year. Haloi, who was felicitated here by the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), urged the state government to provide him with a job, even if it is in the fourth grade, to bail him out of the acute financial crisis being faced by him. “Even my joining the World Championship remained uncertain due to lack of money but it was possible only after the Nalbari district unit of AASU extended help to me,” he said. Haloi also lamented that no MLA or minister helped him financially to join the world championship. PTI
