Army soldier shoots self to death in Poonch

Jammu: An Army jawan allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district today.[caption id=“attachment_1408183” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Under stress. PTI[/caption] Deployed in forward area in Poonch, 23-year-old sepoy Parna Murmu allegedly shot himself with his service rifle at 0900 hrs, the PRO Defence said. The jawan, who hailed from Madhepura district in Bihar, was performing his duty when he fatally shot himself, he said adding the body had been sent for post mortem. A court of inquiry had been ordered into the incident, the PRO said. PTI
