New Delhi: Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh will inaugurate the third edition of India’s bi-annual international exhibition and conference on civil aviation at Hyderabad on Wednesday.
The theme of India Aviation 2012, being held from 14 to 18 March, is ‘India: The Emerging Aviation Hub’ in which the growth opportunities in the Indian aviation sector will be showcased and shared with the stakeholders.[caption id=“attachment_242704” align=“alignleft” width=“380” caption=“Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh. “It would help in addressing a wide range of issues, including building a successful and sustainable future, climate change and security challenges,” a statement from the ministry said.
The first two editions of ‘India Aviation’ in 2008 and 2010 were a huge success.
France will be the focus country for the event, while UK will be the partner country and US the guest country.
“Pavilions from UK, France, USA, Russia, Belgium, New Zealand, Canada and several other countries are being established in the show. The event will witness over 25 aircraft for static and flying display at the show,” the statement said.
The highlights of this year’s show will be the first ever display of Boeing 787 Dreamliner in Air India colours, participation of Piaggio Aero with aircraft participation and hospitality chalet.
Also, Russian aerospace organisation IRKUT will be participating for the first time and leading business and commercial aircraft manufacturers including Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Dassault, Embrear, Gulfstream, Hawker beechcraft, UAC-Sukhoi, IRKUT-Berieve will be the part of this show.
Apart from it, major helicopter manufacturers Augusta Westland, BELL-Textron group, Eurocopter-EADS and UTC Sikorsky will be present in the India Aviation 2012 show.
As India is celebrating the centenary of Civil Aviation in India, a postage stamp to mark the occasion will also be released on Tuesday.
“The event would bring together senior government officials, aviation business leaders, airlines, airport operators and regulators, air navigation service providers, aircraft component manufacturers and technology providers,” the ministry said.
India Aviation Show 2012 is being jointly organised by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) biennially.
Launched in 2008, India Aviation Show has emerged as the biggest platform for providing exciting opportunity for global players to tap immense opportunities in the fast growing Indian aviation market and for Indian players to interface with their global counterparts.
