2G: Court to hear bail plea of Balwa, Chandolia tomorrow

New Delhi: A Delhi court will tomorrow hear the arguments on the bail plea of Swan Telecom Promoter Shahid Usman Balwa, an accused in the 2G case. Special CBI Judge O P Saini, who had listed his bail plea for arguments on 30 November during the day’s proceedings today, advanced it, after Balwa’s counsel moved an application for preponment of hearing in the wake of Delhi High Court’s order granting bail to five accused, including DMK MP Kanimozhi. During the day’s proceedings earlier, Aggarwal had told the court that he would advance his arguments on the bail plea only after the high court pronounces its order. “I will argue after the high court order. Please list the bail plea for arguments day after tomorrow,” he had said. The bail plea of former Telecom Minister A Raja’s ex-private secretary R K Chandolia is also likely to be argued tomorrow. Balwa and Chandolia had moved the bail plea on the ground of parity after the Supreme Court had granted bail to five corporate executives in the case. The court, however, continued the recording of statement of a prosecution witness Bharat Amberkar, Assistant Vice President (accounts and finance) of Reliance Infrastructure Ltd, which remained inconclusive and would continue tomorrow.
