The CISF swung into action and retaliated the firing, forcing the ultras to make a hasty retreat, he said, adding a CISF personnel was injured in the incident. The ultras then attacked the Piparwar police station leading to an encounter with the policemen on duty, Birtheray said, adding two Maoists were killed in the encounter that ended at 3 AM. The superintendent of police, who was camping at the spot, said a massive combing operation has been launched to track down the ultras involved and the toll could go up. PTI
