After months of speculation and rumours regarding their marital status, it turns out India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma have officially separated. Despite sharing cryptic posts on social media, neither Chahal nor Dhanashree had commented on their marriage in recent months.
A report on ABP News, however, states that their separation was officially confirmed at the Bandra Family Court in Mumbai on Thursday where both parties were present. The report adds that both Chahal and Dhanashree confirmed their mutual decision to part ways after the judge directed them to attend a counseling session, which lasted 45 minutes.
It was also revealed that the two had been living separately for the last 18 months , and that it was “compatibility issues” that led to their separation. The divorce was officially granted by the judge at 4.30 pm on the same day.

Both Chahal and Dhanashree posted cryptic stories on social networking platform Instagram after their divorce was confirmed.
“God has protected me more times than I can count. So I can only imagine the times I’ve been rescued that I don’t even know about. Thank you, God, for always being there, even when I don’t know it. Amen,” read the story posted by 34-year-old Chahal, who has represented India in 72 ODIs and 80 T20Is.
