India and Australia are currently locking horns against each other in their fourth game of the ICC Women's World Cup 2025 at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. Australia skipper Alyssa Healy won the toss and elected to field first.

Australia have made one change to the playing XI with Sophie Molineux coming in for Georgia Wareham. India, on the other hand, have retained the same playing XI despite losing to South Africa in their previous game. Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur said her team remains confident despite the setback and is focused on bouncing back strongly against a formidable Australian side.

“Pitch looks better than what we had in the last game. Same XI. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. It’s about how you bounce back. We were there in the game for 95 overs, lots of positives for us. They’ve always been important for us. Always been nice, cheering the team day and night. Biggest part in our lives that we’re getting this support,” Harmanpreet said at the toss.

Fans online are divided over India’s team selection and the performance of some players. Many are upset about the lack of consistency, while others are still supporting the Women in Blue to bounce back and beat Australia. Some people also remembered the last time India faced Australia in an ODI World Cup match and batted first - the 2023 Men’s Cricket World Cup final, which India lost.
