The Indian women’s cricket team will be travelling to Colombo for their women’s ODI World Cup match against Pakistan on 5 October. The India vs Pakistan match will be played at a neutral venue – R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo – despite the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) being the host as India, Pakistan and the International Cricket Council (ICC) have agreed to a hybrid model for ICC events till 2027 .
The hybrid model arrangement was agreed before the Champions Trophy 2025, due to which the Indian men’s cricket team was allowed to play its matches in Dubai instead of travelling to Pakistan.
IND vs PAK on 5 October in Colombo
The 2025 women’s ODI World Cup will start on 30 September with India playing against Sri Lanka at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
As per the hybrid model arrangement, Pakistan women’s cricket team will play all their matches in Sri Lanka during the women’s World Cup 2025. As per the World Cup event, all eight teams will play against each other once in the group stage and the top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals.
This means, besides India, all six other teams will also be required to travel to Sri Lanka to play their group matches against Pakistan. The semi-final and final would also take place in Colombo if Pakistan qualify.
