Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma purchase two plots worth Rs 37.86 crore in Alibaug: Report

Cricketer Virat Kohli and actor Anushka Sharma have purchased another parcel of land in Alibaug, as per a report in the Economic Times. This time the couple has acquired two adjoining plots in the beach town with the total value of the consideration being Rs 37.86 crore. They have bought the land, which is measuring over 5.19 acres, in the Zirad village of Raigad district.

This is the second such buy from the star couple after they had acquired around 8 acres of land in Alibaug back in 2022 to build their farmhouse. Then they had bought the land for Rs 19 crore.

Deal registered on Tuesday

The transaction for this new deal was registered on Tuesday, January 13, as per the report. Stamp duty payment of about Rs 2.27 crore was involved in the deal, documents accessed by CRE matrix, a realty data analytics platform, shows.

The seller in the deal is reportedly Sonali Amit Rajput, while Samira Land Assets Private Limited is the confirming party.

These two parcels of adjoining pieces of land. One measures around 3.6 acres while the other spans 1.55 acres. Alibaug in recent times has emerged as a premium residential market and the purchases by Kohli and Anushka further underline the prominence of the beach town in the real estate market.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma upcoming committments

Kohli is currently playing the ODI series against New Zealand and has already set the stage on fire with a century in the first match in Vadodara. He is now gearing up for the final match of the series that takes place on Sunday, January 18 in Indore.

After that he has not much cricket on his schedule till late March when he will be among the key faces when Royal Challengers Bengaluru defend their Indian Premier League title.

Meanwhile, Anushka Sharma has not been seen on the big screen since 2022 when she was last seen in ‘Qala’. A biopic of India legend Jhulan Goswami starring her has not seen the light of day even as the first look was released in 2022.
