Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who emerged as a revelation for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025, has gone on to achieve a massive milestone on the global front. Suryavanshi took the cricket world by storm in the eighteenth edition of the IPL, smashing boundaries and sixes at will. Witnessing the skill of the 14-year-old wonder-kid, some of the biggest legends of the sport were left stunned.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi attains massive milestone
While the IPL gave a jump-start to the youngster, he has successfully taken the momentum forward and is now making immense strides at the international level. Playing for India in the first Youth Test against England, which took place from July 12 to 15 at the Kent Cricket Ground in Buckingham, Suryavanshi etched his name in the history books by becoming the first player in history to score a half-century and take a wicket in the same Youth Test match before turning 15. The record was previously held by Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz (15 years, 167 days). Former India cricketer Suresh Raina also held the record from 2002 to 2007. He attained the feat at the age of 15 years, 242 days.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s other notable achievements
Suryavanshi scored his second 50+ in Youth Test cricket, following a century against Australia. He’s now the youngest player on record to score multiple half-centuries in international U-19 cricket in the longest format.
Suryavanshi also became the youngest Indian to take a wicket in U-19 Test cricket and the second-youngest globally. The 14-year-old Indian star is rapidly climbing the ranks and could have a bright future ahead in the sport.
