Records tumbled at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Monday as 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed a match-winning century in just 35 balls for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) against Gujarat Titans (GT). Suryavanshi scored 101 off 38 balls before getting bowled by Prasidh Krishna as RR defeated GT by eight wickets to keep their hopes alive in the race for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 playoff spots.

The teenager from Samastipur, Bihar, smashed 11 sixes and seven fours in his whirlwind knock that proved his critics wrong. Vaibhav Suryavanshi was bought for Rs 1.1 crore by the Royals in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

His 35-ball ton is the second-fastest century in IPL history and it has been labelled as the "greatest ever" performance across 18 seasons of the cash-rich T20 league by South African great Shaun Pollock. “These are international-class bowlers. We are talking about Rashid Khan, two quicks at the top of order. These are proper international bowlers and they just disappeared. For me, this is the greatest individual performance of the IPL ever,” Pollock told Cricbuzz. “It has to be. For a 14-year-old to stand out there and smashing around. He got a hundred of 35 balls. There has been great victories and performances but that has to be the greatest ever performance in IPL history.
