Vaibhav Suryavanshi (Vaibhav Sooryavanshi) created a new world record on Wednesday (24 December 2025) as he became the youngest batter at 14 years and 272 days to score a hundred in men’s List A cricket. The teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi scripted the record in the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2025-26, which got underway on Wednesday.

Playing for Bihar vs Arunachal Pradesh at the JSCA Oval Ground in Ranchi, Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed 190 in just 84 balls to become the youngest men’s cricketer to score a List A hundred. Vaibhav Suryavanshi broke the 39-year-old record of Pakistan’s Zahoor Elahi.

Zahoor Elahi was 15 years and 209 days old when he made the record in 1986 while playing vs Railways. The third youngest on the list is Afghanistan’s Riaz Hassan, who got a List A hundred at the age of 16 years and nine days in 2018.

The youngest Indian before Vaibhav Suryavanshi to score a List A hundred was Ambati Rayudu, achieving the record at the age of 16 years and 107 days against Goa in 2002.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi took just 36 balls on Wednesday to get to his hundred, which is his first non-T20 century. Earlier this year in the IPL 2025, he became the youngest batter ever to score a T20 ton.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi finished his innings on 190, getting out to Techi Neri after smashing 16 fours and 15 sixes. He accumulated his runs at a strike rate of 226.

It’s a perfect comeback from Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who had a disappointing U-19 Asia Cup 2025 ODI tournament recently, failing in most matches after starting with a hundred.
