A furious Cameron Green gestured that Usman Tariq was chucking after the spinner dismissed the all-rounder during Pakistan’s massive win over Australia in the second T20I at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday, January 31.
Tariq, who has consistently faced scrutiny over his unusual action, got the wicket of Green in the 11th over. He stopped midway in his action and opted for a low arm release for the ball where Green wanted to hit a six but instead mistimed it straight into the hands of the point fielder.
Green makes ‘chucking’ gestures
The tall all-rounder was Australia’s only hope of chasing down a formidable target of 199 as they had already lost five wickets. He had scored 35 in 20 balls with a four and two sixes when he lost his wicket.
As soon as the right-hander was dismissed, he seemed visibly upset. While walking back to the dressing room, Green made a throwing gesture. He did it once again after crossing the boundary ropes.

Tariq is not unknown to controversies surrounding his action. He has previously been reported for suspected bowling action in two separate seasons of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). However, he was cleared both the times after clearing PCB-accredited biomechanics tests.
Pakistan dominate Australia
While Green’s gestures made headlines, it was Pakistan’s performance that stole the show. Pakistan defeated Australia by 90 runs in the second T20I to seal the series ahead of the final match on Sunday. This is now Pakistan’s first series win against Australia in T20Is since 2018.
The star of the show for Pakistan was their captain Salman Ali Agha who led from the front and played an amazing knock of 76 from only 40 deliveries. Wicket-keeper batter Usman Khan also scored a brisk half-century to take the hosts to 198/5 in 20 overs.
Pakistani spinners then made light work of Australia who were bowled out for a paltry 108. Shadab Khan and Abrar Ahmad picked up three wickets apiece while Tariq finished with 2/16 in his 2.4 overs.
