The ‘Orange Army’ currently sit at the ninth spot on the 10-team table with six points from 10 games, a dramatic fall from the previous IPL season in which they finished runners-up in Pat Cummins’ maiden season in charge.
How the outcome of SRH-DC clash will affect race to IPL 2025 playoffs
Here are the possible outcomes from the 55th match of the 2025 Indian Premier League and how it will affect the team standings and playoff scenarios:
If Sunrisers Hyderabad win: Their defeat against GT in Ahmedabad left SRH needing to win each of their remaining games in order to keep their campaign alive, starting with Monday’s home game against DC.
A Hyderabad victory will have no effect on Delhi’s position on the table as Patel and Co will remain fifth, but will help Cummins’ side move past the already-eliminated Royals to the 8th spot.
If Delhi Capitals win: Despite their sharp mid-season decline, a victory or two will bring the Capitals back in the playoffs picture.
