'Yeh kya ho gaya': Rohit Sharma concerned with Mumbai's air quality ahead of India vs Sri Lanka

India captain Rohit Sharma seemed a bit concerned regarding the weather condition in Mumbai ahead of the team’s 2023 Cricket World Cup clash against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium. World Cup 2023: News | Schedule | Results | Points table If Rohit Sharma’s Instagram story is to go by, things are certainly not looking good. In Rohit’s Instagram story, he posted an aerial view of Mumbai from the flight, but hardly anything could be visible amid thick smog covering the “Maximum City”.

“Mumbai, yeh kya ho gaya (Mumbai, what’s happened)?” he captioned in his story on Instagram. [caption id=“attachment_13324242” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”] Rohit Sharma’s Instagram story.[/caption] Over the last two weeks, the weather in Mumbai has been a cause for concern. Mumbai’s Air Quality Index (AQI) on Tuesday morning was 161 that is “moderate” according to the CPBC. Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) recorded the worst AQI of 257, whereas Sion’s AQI is 218. On Sunday, the AQI in Mumbai was 152 and on Monday that number further redicted to 143. To put it into context, any AQI ratings below 50 is deemed to be good, whereas AQI under 100 is satistfactory. “Moderate” AQI is considered when the rating is between 101 and 200, while ratings between 201 and 300 are considered poor. India, meanwhile, are currently on top of the 2023 World Cup points table with six wins in as many games, and are the only unbeaten team this tournament. Their match against Sri Lanka in Mumbai on 2 November will be followed by matches against South Africa (5 November) and Netherlands (12 November), which will round off the league stage.
