Yashasvi Jaiswal slams Test ton at Visakhapatnam as Ex-England international calls him 'most dangerous Indian batter'

India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal missed out on the milestone in Hyderabad last week but more than made up for it in Visakhapatnam by bringing up his maiden Test hundred at home on Friday. **LIVE | India vs England, 2nd Test in Visakhapatnam, Day 1** The left-handed opener brought up what is only his second Test hundred in his sixth appearance in the format in style by launching England left-arm spinner Tom Hartley for a six over long on. The manner in which Jaiswal reached his milestone was reminiscent of a legendary top-order Indian batter. Virender Sehwag, who collected more than 16,000 runs in a career spanning a decade-and-a-half, used to similarly bring up hundreds and double-hundreds (and even a triple hundred in Multan) with a six. He has maintained the same approach in domestic cricket. We looked at how he batted in the IPL and that is why he got the opportunity in international cricket. We saw that in the first Test how attacking he can be. He hit two sixes off Tom Hartley’s first over. “Even here, he tried to be positive. Hit Joe Root for a boundary early on. It was in the air but this is how modern-day batters play. What an innings he has played so far. I think he is the most dangerous Indian batter at the moment,” Shah said during the lunch show on Sports18, the official broadcaster for the marquee India-England Test series.

Jaiswal’s heroics helped the hosts get their innings off to a strong start after skipper Rohit Sharma opted to bat in the second of five Tests at Vizag’s ACA-VCDA Stadium. After 60 overs, India were 218 for the loss of three wickets, with Jaiswal stitching a 90-run third-wocket partnership with Shreyas Iyer.
