Yashasvi Jaiswal had a record-breaking match as India defeated England by 434 runs at Rajkot to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match Test series. After getting out on 10 in the first innings, Jaiswal slammed 214 in the second essay including 12 sixes including a hat-trick of maximums to James Anderson. The young opener’s whirlwind innings helped India to set a target of 557 which became an impossible task for England in the third Test.

22: Jaiswal has so far smashed 22 sixes in the series, making him the batter with most number of maximums in a Test series, going past Rohit Sharma’s 19 sixes in 2019 home series vs South Africa.
12: Jaiswal is only the second batter after Wasim Akram (257 not out vs Zimbabwe at Sheikhupura in 1996-97) to hit 12 sixes in a Test innings.
3: At 22 years and 52 days, Jaiswal is the third youngest batter to score a double ton in the second innings. The youngest are George Headley (20 years and 315 days - 223 against England Kingston 1930) and Sunil Gavaskar (21 years and 283 days - 220 against West Indies Port of Spain 1971).
545: Yashasvi has scored 545 runs so far in the Test series which is the highest for an Indian left-handed batter in a Test series
231: Jaiswal took 231 balls to get to his double ton, which is the joint sixth-fastest double hundred for India. MS Dhoni also took just 231 balls against Australia in Chennai in 2013.
