The second edition of the Women’s Premier League, WPL 2024, is all set to kick off on Friday, 23 February. While the tournament will go on till 17 March, the opening ceremony is expected to be a star-studded affair and is all set to take place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Many celebrities will perform in the event including Shah Rukh Khan. The superstar has also joined the group of A-listers for the WPL 2024 opening ceremony.
One of the biggest names and faces in Bollywood, SRK will be headlining the big event ahead of the tournament and celebrating ‘Cricket Ka Queendom!’
WPL’s social media team on Wednesday announced the actor’s name, fondly called ‘King Khan’, as the star performer at the opening ceremony. This has already created a lot of excitement among fans, who are eagerly anticipating his electrifying and dynamic performance at the event. “Get ready folks. It’s none other than @iamsrk who will celebrate Cricket ka Queendom! Watch #TATAWPL 2024 Opening Ceremony on @JioCinema & @Sports18 LIVE from the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru,” the tweet read.
Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, the grand event will also mark performances from stars like Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Kartik Aaryan, and Tiger Shroff. The grand opening ceremony will also witness performances from actresses like Kriti Sanon and Kiara Advani.
While the ceremony will be held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, viewers can also watch the live streaming on the Jio Cinema app and website, followed by a live telecast on the Sports18 network.
Women’s Premier League 2024
After wrapping up a successful year in its first edition, the Women’s Premier League is now gearing up for the second edition, maintaining the same format from the previous year. A total of five teams including Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, UP Warriorz, and Gujarat Giants will be competing in the tournament in 22 matches to win the 2024 WPL title.
