World Cup 2023: South Africa collect records in thumping win over Bangladesh

Quinton de Kock cracked his third century in five innings at the 2023 Cricket World Cup as South Africa scored big once again and won by a massive 149-run margin over Bangladesh on Tuesday. The next highest is New Zealand with 268 runs and they are also the next best in run rate. 19 - South Africa smashed 19 sixes against Bangladesh, joint-highest by any team against the Tigers in an ODI. West Indies also collected 19 sixes against them in 2014 2 - South Africa’s 19 sixes is the second-most in a World Cup fixture. England piled up 25 sixes against Afghanistan in 2019. South Africa have hit more sixes only twice before - 20 against India and Australia. 150.78 - Among recognised batters, no one has a better strike rate at the 2023 World Cup than Heinrich Klaasen. The big-hitting No 5 is the sixth-highest scorer at ths tournament, and his 288 runs have come at a jaw-dropping rate of 150.78. 3 - On the losing note but Mahmudullah provided a good fight for his third World Cup century. The previous World Cup centuries for Bangladesh were by Shakib Al Hasan (2) and Mushfiqur Rahim (1) at the 2019 World Cup.
