World Cup 2023: Arijit Singh to Shankar Mahadevan, list of performers for India vs Pakistan

Ahead of the highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan at the 2023 ICC World Cup, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has arranged ‘A Musical Odyssey’ - an event that will star a number of prominent Indian singers performing live for the audience. This much-awaited India vs Pakistan match will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Apart from this, Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh and Tamannaah Bhatia will also be in attendance at the world’s largest cricket stadium. BCCI took to social media on Thursday and shared the entire itinerary. It confirmed that the pre-match spectacle will commence at 12:30 pm. The India-Pakistan cricket clash has always been one of the most intense showdowns in the sport, and is one of the most awaited matches of this ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup.

It should be mentioned here that there was no opening ceremony for this year’s World Cup. The tournament started on 5 October with the England vs New Zealand match taking place at the same venue. The absence of an elaborate opening ceremony was a deliberate choice by the BCCI, as they wanted to focus on a pre-match show preceding the highly anticipated India vs Pakistan clash instead.

As we approach this match between India and Pakistan, the hosts certainly enjoy a clean slate. In the history of ODI World Cup matches, these two sides have met on seven occasions, and India have won all of them. The World Cup rivalry started in 1992 and since then, India have won all the matches in 50-over World Cup matches, resulting in numerous memorable moments but only one victorious team. Both these sides come into this match after having won their first two games and it will be interesting to see the composition of the side for this crucial encounter.
