Babar Azam is likely to step down as captain of Pakistan after the ongoing 2023 Cricket World Cup, Geo News reported on Friday. World Cup 2023: News | Schedule | Results | Points table According to Geo News, Babar has been consulting with ex-PCB chairman Ramiz Raja, and a few people in the know of things. The report goes onto add that Azam took advice from Raja during a training session Kolkata, ahead of their clash against England. Babar will seek advice from his father on returning to Pakistan, and his final decision will be taken thereafter, the report further stated. “Everyone has their own point of view, their own way of thinking. Everyone is saying something different. He should be like this, or like that. If someone has to give me advice, everyone has my number. It is easy to give advice on TV. If you want to give me some advice, you can message me," Babar had said ahead of the England game.
Babar has been under pressure as Pakistan skipper, with his team on the verge of an exit from the Cricket World Cup. Pakistan are placed fifth in the standings with eight points and even a straightforward win against England on Saturday won’t be enough for the Men in Green to qualify for the semi-finals.
