Australia defeated South Africa on Thursday to qualify for the final of the 2023 World Cup scheduled for Sunday in Ahmedabad. Having been asked to field first by the Proteas, Australia relied largely on their pace trio of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc, who shared seven wickets between them to dismiss South Africa for 212. South Africa were 24/4 at one stage, but David Miller (101) and Heinrich Klaasen (47) helped them prevent an embarrassing collapse with a 95-run stand. In reply, David Warner and Travis Head forged a 60-run stand for the opening wicket, but fall of regular wickets meant Australia were restricted to 174/6. It was Pat Cummins (14*) and Mitchell Starc (16*) who took the Aussies to a record eighth World Cup final. Australia will take on India in the final of the World Cup in Ahmedabad on Sunday (19 November), and netizens seemed to be pretty excited for the grand occasion:
