Watch: Rohit Sharma jokes with 'batter' Kuldeep Yadav after handing ICC ODI Team of the Year cap

Rohit Sharma, known for his hilarious punchlines, traded latest comic exchange with spinner Kuldeep Yadav in a viral video by the International Cricket Council (ICC. Rohit has time and again entertained fans and media with his comments in press-conferences and on the field.

During a promotional shoot for the upcoming T20 World Cup, Rohit was asked to present Kuldeep with the ICC ODI Team of the Year cap. The India captain agreed and it led to a hilarious exchange.

Presenting the cap to the left-arm spinner, Rohit said, “It’s my great pleasure to present this wonderful cap to a wonderful athlete and who has been a real asset for Team India, ICC ODI Team of the Year, Kuldeep.”

“Thank you, Rohit bhai,” a shy Kuldeep said in response.

Rohit asked Kuldeep to say something for the camera, which the spinner politely decline.

“You should say something,” the opener pressed Kuldeep.

Feeling his captain’s pressure, Kuldeep said, “I mean, nothing much to say. I mean I had a great season last year, both with the bat and ball. "

Shocked by Kuldeep’s admission, Rohit asked, “Bat? When?”

A confused Kuldeep stuttered, “I mean, uh. I mean, uh.”

Rohit hilariously interjected, “I mean uh, when?”

“Test series,” the Delhi Capitals star sheepishly said.

“This is ODI,” Rohit stated.

Trying to reason, Kuldeep said, “But I performed with the bat as well, so last year I was really good with the ball during the World Cup as well.”

“I am captain of this team. I have never seen him bat. So, I don’t know what is he talking about,” Rohit said with a laugh.

A grinning Kuldeep concluded, “Thank you, Rohit bhai.”

The duo will be involved in the upcoming T20 World Cup in West Indies and the USA which begins on 1 June.

India’s campaign gets underway against Ireland on 5 June. Thereafter India will face Pakistan (9 June), USA (12 June) and Canada (15 June) in their group fixtures.
