India levelled the five-match series against England by winning the second Test by 106 runs . Needing nine wickets on the fourth day’s play in Visakhapatnam, India had much of the job done in the first session with five wickets. In the post-lunch session, England’s tail tried to fight but the Indian bowlers, especially Jasprit Bumrah, proved decisive in clinching the contest. India seamer Bumrah and spinner R Ashwin, halted on 499 Test wicket mark, took three wickets each. Rest of the Indian bowling - Mukesh Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel - took one wicket each. For the visitors, Zak Crawley had provided a stiff fight with 73 runs but was undone by Kuldeep and it was confirmed by a review. Ben Foakes (36) and Tom Hartley (36) both chipped in at the bottom end of their 399 run target but had no answer for the stupendous show by Bumrah. The India seamer finished with nine wickets in the match. Yashasvi Jaiswal (209) and Shubman Gill (104) had provided the launchpad for a stiff final total with centuries in the first and second innings respectively.
