A staggering 521 runs in series, 1258 balls across seven innings and three gritty hundreds later you think Cheteshwar Pujara has done it all. But is it truly complete without a last dance? After India clinched the historic Test series 2-1, the team was off to celebrate the victory which has come after a wait of 71 years. It was a special moment and the want was of a special celebration. India’s youngest member in the team – Rishabh Pant – led from the front and came up with a new dance step. Captain Virat Kohli acknowledged and approved and the team broke into a celebratory dance, but India’s top scorer in the series with the bat, was well restricted here. Later on, it was known that the dance was actually inspired by the Cheteshwar Pujara’s walk. Here is that dance clip:

At the press conference, Team India captain Virat Kohli was asked to explain the dance that followed India’s victory. The Indian captain explained, “You’ll have to ask Rishabh Pant that, he came up with that and we just went along. I don’t know what he was trying to do to be honest. It just felt good, it was very easy but Pujara could not even do that. You can see how simple he is.” He then said that, in fact, the dance was an inspired by Pujara’s walking style. He said, “That was the Pujara dance because when he walks he does not move his hands, it’s more of an extension of his walk. Rishabh came up and we just joined in.” During the celebration, Pant was seen pushing Pujara to shake a leg but the India No 3 resisted to the idea. One can say the Saurashtra batsmen was immovable there too. He, however, has definitely given birth to a new dancing style. Was Bollywood watching?
