Former England captain Michael Vaughan’s banter with former India opener Wasim Jaffer is quite famous, especially when it comes to engaging in hilarious word-play on social media. While the former England captain is often seen trolling fans and cricketers from other countries, Jaffer also has a reputation for trolling Vaughan time and again. This time too, in a friendly jibe, Wasim was seen praising Michael, further adding that “he’s come a long way.” Notably, this came after Vaughan recently took a dig at former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez for calling Virat Kohli ‘selfish’. With regards to Kohli’s 49th ODI century made during the India vs South Africa match in Kolkata’s Eden Gardens, Hafeez labelled Virat Kohli’s knock of 101 off 121 balls against South Africa a ‘selfish’ one. Wasim Jaffer’s playful jibe at Michael Vaughan In a quick reaction to Hafeez’s tweet, Vaughan quote-tweeted the same and gave a befitting response. He wrote, “Great innings from Stokesy.. As was Virats on a difficult pitch in Kolkata against a better attack ..

He further shared a picture of the latter getting clean-bowled by Kohli in the past and wrote, “Seems to me Mohammad Hafeez you were bowled by Virat Kohli!!! Is this the reason you constantly have a pop at him .. #CWC2023 #India #Pakistan.” Amid this, Jaffer took up the opportunity to take a jibe at the former England captain. “On a podcast Michael Vaughan said that I hired a professional to banter with him. It’s true. But I only did that as I thought he needed professional help. And it’s worked. From unnecessarily trolling Ind fans to acting like an Ind fan, look how far he’s come!”, he wrote.

In response, Vaughan too played along and quote-tweeted Jaffer’s tweet. “Can’t believe it’s not you Wasim Jaffer.. but let’s carry on the fun .. even if it’s against a professional @clubprairiefire is the podcast by the way,” he tweeted. Notably, this is not the first time that the two have engaged in such banters. Their hilarious tweets often keep fans intrigued and entertained. The two also continue to remain active on social media amid the ongoing ICC World Cup.
